PDOI (Passive Defense Organization of Iran) (also known as Permanent Committee for Passive Defense or PDO Passive Defence Organization) was created during Ahmadinejad’s presidency under the guidance of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and is directly responsible to the military chain of command. Its chief is appointed with by the Iranian Armed Forces Chief of Staff
